Do I need a GP referral?
No referral is required. You can book directly online, complete a short intake form, and have your first initial assessment with a Mediflora nurse — then if you qualify you will chat to your doctor same-day or next-day.
What happens in the first consultation?
A full initial assessment with an AHPRA-registered nurse — not rushed, not scripted. Then your doctor reviews your intake, asks about your goals and symptoms, and writes an individualised care plan with you. Everything is documented in your patient portal.
Is Mediflora available outside Byron Bay?
Yes — Mediflora consultations are delivered by telehealth nationally across Australia. Our clinical team is anchored in Byron Bay; you can see your doctor from anywhere.
Will Mediflora work alongside my GP?
We frequently do. If you have a current GP, your Mediflora doctor will document and (with your consent) share your care plan to keep your primary clinician or any specialists you work with in the loop. We are complementary, not oppositional.
What is the cost of follow-up care?
Follow-up consultations are A$29. The cadence is set by your care plan — typically 4–8 weeks after your initial consult, then quarterly.
How long will my initial consult take?
Typically your initial nurse assessment can take 15-20 minutes where you will need to complete an medical consent and intake form, supply some medical history and discuss your condition and personal circumstances.
How do my medications get dispensed
If you consult with your doctor and recieve your prescription you should recieve your prescription within the same day or next day. You will then login to your Medifoora patient portal and purchase your medication from our partner pharmacies and this will be delivered within 1-2 days.
